Boundaries: Are There Content Areas (Language, Sex, Violence) For Which Screenwriting Teachers Should Provide Student Guidelines? How Can We Nurture a "Creative But Safe Space?"

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

While no teacher wants to act as a censor, where should the "content boundaries" for our classes be? Should we regulate scripts with foul language, excessive violence, and sexual abuse, or just punish them with a low grade? And should our behavior change if a script is merely written for a grade, and not for production? Our panelists discuss their challenging roles as student guides and mentors.
