Management Styles in Student Media

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Student media advisors are accustomed to wearing multiple hats and maintaining a delicate balance between the roles of advisor, leader, manager, peer and colleague. These roles are often as varied as both the students and media outlets they manage. This panel explores the different management and leadership styles, pedagogy, and approaches to experiential learning from those responsible for managing radio and print outlets. Moderator:  Nick Artman, Slippery Rock University
Panelists: Jenna Lovato, Colorado State University Pueblo
Jennifer Williamson, Virginia State University
Jeffrey P. Schiffman, York College of Pennsylvania
Michael Tucker, University of West Georgia
